AMEK Strengthens International Collaboration Through Strategic Partnership Discussions with the Republic of Korea

The Association of Medical Engineering of Kenya (AMEK) has taken another significant step toward advancing biomedical engineering in Kenya through a high-level engagement with H.E. Kang Hyung-Shik, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Kenya.

The meeting marked the beginning of discussions on a strategic partnership between AMEK and leading Korean institutions aimed at strengthening professional capacity, promoting innovation, and creating international opportunities for biomedical engineers in Kenya.

Building a Strong Kenya–Korea Partnership

An AMEK Council delegation, led by Hon. Symon Mbakah, Chairman, and the Secretary General, presented a comprehensive partnership proposal focused on enhancing the skills, knowledge, and career opportunities of AMEK members.

The proposed areas of collaboration include:

  • Train-the-Trainers capacity-building programmes
  • Exchange programmes and professional observership opportunities
  • Mentorship initiatives for young biomedical engineers
  • Innovation and biomedical technology incubation support

  • Fellowship opportunities at leading Korean institutions
